  • Routine Care Riders - Routine Care riders are available as an add-on to your accident and illness coverage. This additional coverage can provide reimbursement for things such as: annual vet exam, vaccinations, heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and much more. There are a few different options available to choose from. Routine Care will add an additional $11-$25 onto your monthly premium.

Accident and illness coverage begins upon your first payroll deduction. There is a short frame between enrollment and effective date. Accident coverage begins at the time of your effective date. There is a 14-day waiting period on illness coverage after your effective date. If you choose Routine Care, this coverage will begin on your effective date.

Do all veterinarians accept this pet insurance?

Yes. MetLife Pet Insurance works as a reimbursement program, so policyholders are free to use any licensed veterinarian within the U.S.

Can I add another pet to my existing policy?

Yes, simply call the Employees Club of California.

Must a pet be of certain age before it can be enrolled for protection?

For initial enrollment, cats and dogs must 8 weeks or older.
